C-MD-08L/C-MD-08L-L; 8ch low CWDM-band filter
The C-MD-08L is an 8ch low CWDM-band Mux/DeMux. The eight wavelength ports of the C-MD-08L operates on the low CWDM-band channels; 1271 to 1451nm.
As seen in the figure below, the two channels 1391 and 1411nm are skipped since these are subject to the high
water-peak attenuation that can be present in older fiber types.
The C-MD-08L/C-MD-08L-L; 8ch low CWDM-band filter module are mounted in a 1 RU mounting bracket solution where the filter module sizes varydepending on type of filter, i.e. the number of optical ports that are required. The filters are thus not wider thannecessary. The size of the plug-in filter units runs from 35 to 113mm in width and any combination of the filtermodules can be mounted in the 422mm wide slot of the mounting bracket. The 40ch filters are monoliths andhave a full 19” rack width.
The C-MD-08L can be used stand-alone or be combined via the Extension port of other CWDM filters such as the C-MD-05, C-MD-09H or C-MD-09H-L filters. Each filter having an Extension port have a table listing supported filters.The table compares the worst case (ageing & temperature) link loss of C-MD-08L and C-MD-08L-L at I-temp conditions.

C-MD-08L-L uses a more expensive filter design to provide a lower loss. The selection between the two is a balance between needed loss and cost. | |||
