The 40 DWDM channels are split into ten groups of 4 channels enabling fan-out configurations as shown in thefigure. The channels can be added/dropped via the 8ch D-MD-09-Cxx-Cyy DWDM Mux/Demux filters or via the 4ch D-OADM1x4-Cxx-Cyy OADM filters as shown in the figure below.
